I rented one today for the trip from NYC to MD. I shall write up a decent test when I get back to Manhattan. So far, so good.

They are a great idea they just seem a tad boring

So far (as a rental) I prefer it to the Prius and the Camry Hybrid. I want to see what it does tomorrow in stop-and-go with mom on board. Also - plugged in the iPhone, punched in an address, and the nice lady in the dash gave me turn-by-turn instructions while I listened to Marc Maron. Although this may be the norm nowadays ....

Only when I parallel park.

And I should say - the build quality is Toyota-like. Alas, the plastics in the interior resemble those of a Camry as well - you’d expect more for the price.

I test drove one and came away impressed. It’s certainly no sports car, but for a normal car the electric torque is pretty exciting

Except my hair is shorter, and I weigh a bit more.

Please do post a full review! I’m strongly considering buying a used one for my wife.

The problem with a hybrid is the interior is secondary to the power train. That is likely why it is sub quality for the price

I have even heard reviewers complaining about the interior materials used in the Tesla Model S. That should not be the case in a $100K plus car.

After sitting in a few the Model S seems a bit basic (besides the massive touch screen)

There was a Tesla dealership on the way here (17N?) - maybe I can hit it on the way home. I’d immediately confess - I am a gearhead, but your cars have no gears. PLEASE LET ME JUST SIT IN ONE!

They have one around where I live and they are totally fine with people sitting in the car. But it isn't a dealership per say. It is like a mini shop with two cars inside

Yeah - I think every one is made to order. And damn - my brother-in-law was going to get one, but his accountant said not this year. He was in a 7 series, now drives a 1 series 6M and LOVES it.
